  • The Summer months are mid-May/June – August/mid-September.
  • During the summer months it does not get dark. There is 24/7 sunlight.  Ideal for making the most of your trip

  • Icelandic Weather is very unpredictable
  • Book well in advance for accomodation and trips as they get booked up quickly.
  • Be prepared for four seasons in one day with the ever changing weather. Whis an average temperature in Reykjavik of 0°C in January and 13°C in July
  • Dress in layers, this makes it easier to shed layers of clothing when it warms up and apply another when it cools down.
  • Pack waterproof shoes, there is nothing worse than cold wet feet.
  • Keep an eye on the weather and road conditions (Iceland Weather, Safe Travel Iceland or http://www.road.is/)
  • There is no need to tip as the service charge is incorporated into the costs advertised.
  • Drive carefully and stick to the speed limits that are clearly marked as the police are strict at enforcing limits and there are plenty of speed cameras.
  • Know what F-Roads are when they are open or closed and if you require 4×4 (4WD).
  • We would advise taking out the “Full” insurance if renting a vehicle as the winds can be strong and easily rip doors out of your hand breaking the hinges.
  • The water is fine to drink, no need to buy water.
  • Pack european power adaptors
